Who needs a license?
Any person or business entity who transacts real estate business for compensation as an agent for another person must first obtain a real estate license
issued by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC).
What are the license qualification requirements?
To qualify for a real estate broker license, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria.
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Be a US citizen, a non-citizen national or a qualified alien under federal law;
- Have a social security number;
- Pass the real estate license examination; and
- Satisfy the Commission that they possess the requisite character to be entitled to licensure.
How do I get my license?
If you are interested in getting your NC real estate license, you will begin with a 75-Hour Broker Pre-Licensing Course.
You must successfully complete this course and pass the state exam in order to get your NC real estate license. View our "7 Steps to Success"
